September Visiting Artist: Amy Katz

Amy Katz starting beading in 1993 to nurture her creative side. As she learned more and more about seed beads, her love for the art grew. Through the years she has taken classes and taught her own projects and methods. It has been her dream to start a "bead boutique." Now a reality, Amy presents Bead Journey, a company that offers her unique and personal view on beadwork. Taking her love of fine jewelry to a new level, Amy's designs revolve around the "high-end" jewelry store look using quality seed beads, crystals, pearls and more. The goal is to create jewelry pieces that will have everyone taking a second glance - yet can be created affordably. We are offering specials on multiple classes. See below for the class specials.

Wonder Wheel

This beautiful pendant is truly a wonder to create. Using various peyote techniques, make a dimensional circular pendant and encrust it with crystals and bugle beads to get a sparkling look. String a beautiful chain to match the pendant for that perfect touch. Click on the photo for a larger version.

Level: Advanced. You must have good knowledge of even count tubular peyote stitch to take this class.

Tennis With A Twist

Create a sparkly tennis bracelet with crystals and pearls using peyote stitch and right angle weave techniques. Give a classic style a new twist forming links to achieve the "look." See the bottom of the page for special multi-class discounts! Click on the photo for a larger version.

Level: Intermediate. To participate in this class, students must have a good knowledge of tubular even-count peyote stitch. The stitch will be reviewed but not taught in depth in class.

Athena's Muse

World Premiere Workshop- offered for the first time at Briolette! Create a beautiful necklace fit for a Greek goddess. Using square stitch, peyote stitch and right angle weave techniques create a handsome link chain. Decorate the chain with dazzling circles, triangles and charms created with Swarovski Elements. This popular look of the past and the present is created by combining seed beads, crystals and glass pearls to achieve an elegant necklace.
